Giant anteater Cecilia was just a baby when you helped rescue her from wildfires in Brazil. Now, she has a baby of her very own!

Say hello to giant anteater Cecilia’s special new arrival!

Since you first helped rescue Cecilia from devastating wildfires in Brazil, she’s been receiving lots of care and nutritious food with our sanctuary partners at the Tamanduá Institute.

Now she’s back out in the wild, under the careful eye of her carers at the Institute. But nothing could have prepared them for the day she emerged from the jungle with a newborn pup!

It’s been years since Cecilia was rescued from the human-made fires that left her orphaned. And yet the factory farming industry continues to light fires to clear the forest in Brazil, leaving the animals that survive homeless and injured.

But because of your help, Cecilia’s baby is the biggest sign yet that a better future is possible for the wild animals of the Amazon.

Rescued anteaters safely released

Thanks to you, two giant baby anteaters, Cecilia and Darlan, orphaned by the Brazil fires, have been safely released into the wild.
