Macaque update: Meet besties Amel and Meli
News
Have you ever wondered what a monkey spa day might look like? Amel and Meli want to show you!

You recently helped rescue macaques Amel and Meli from the cruel dancing monkey trade in Indonesia. Since their rescue, these golden girls have become the very best of friends as they recover with our partners at Jakarta Animal Aid Network.
Watch the video to see Meli give Amel a special grooming treatment to keep her looking fabulous:
Amel is a little bit older than Meli and needs a bit more time to get healthy before she can be released into a bigger enclosure with lots of other macaques. But their carers hope they’ll both soon be ready to be released back into the wild, where they can go on even bigger adventures together.
Thank you for taking care of Amel, Meli and their friends as they get ready to return to the wild.

Animals, not entertainers
Across the globe, animals at wildlife tourism venues are forced to endure intense pain and mostly unseen suffering to entertain tourists and visitors on a daily basis.
