Compassionate people like you are helping birds keep their feathers

Good news for ostriches! A growing number of fashion brands and industry leaders are choosing to leave feathers off the runway and out of their collections.

Renowned New Zealand designer Karen Walker, plus fashion retailers including THE ICONIC, Glassons, and ASOS have introduced policies that ban ostrich feathers. They join UK-based retailers NEXT, Wolf & Badger and Selfridges in taking a stand against the use of ostrich feathers in fashion.
Fashion Week events are also protecting ostriches. Together with Collective Fashion Justice, we moved Melbourne Fashion Week and Australian Fashion Week to introduce the first full wildlife friendly policy, banning all wild animal products, including ostrich feathers.
These decisions reflect a growing recognition that animals should not suffer for trends or accessories. They also show how quickly industries can evolve when innovative brands and organisations choose to lead the way.
While there is still more work to do, these milestones are worth celebrating. Every new commitment helps build momentum for a future where animals are valued for who they are, not for what they can provide.
Thank you for standing with wild animals and helping create a kinder world for ostriches and countless other species.
