With your support, orphaned and rescued sloths are being nurtured and rehabilitated to be released back into the wild where they belong. Thank you!
Here’s a happy story that was just “Menta” be. Menta was rescued from the side of a road without her mother when she was only four months old. Her name is Spanish for “mint” and how sweet life is now for this beautiful baby sloth.

The closest thing to having a mum
The sloths are building their confidence in large enclosure with lots of trees. And they have access to several small shed habitats that the staff refer to as “wombs” because of the way they nurture and protect the baby sloths.
A “womb” with a view
The sides and rooves of these habitats are made from transparent Perspex in order to keep the heat in whilst also allowing the sloths to look out at the surrounding trees and become familiar with the natural environment where they belong. Each new habitat can receive four juvenile sloths, or one adult.
Each basket, or “womb,” is filled with soft blankets to resemble their mother’s fur and to provide comfort to these orphaned babies.
