Assam State in India experiences tropical monsoons between April and October each year. This year however the rains were unusually heavy causing widespread flooding, devastating the area in late August and early September putting the lives of tens of thousands of animals at risk.

Hurricane Matthew hit the southwestern coast of Haiti on Tuesday 4th October, leaving devastation in its wake in a mostly rural area of the impoverished country. The storm was the strongest Caribbean hurricane in nearly a decade and the most powerful to hit Haiti in fifty two years.

If you happened to visit the Romanian bear sanctuary this year to catch glimpses of the rescued bears in their forested enclosures, two lively little bears were kept well out of sight.
