Please note, while we've tried to ensure the ingredients in these recipes are safe for dogs, a good rule of thumb is to always check with your vet before feeding your pet anything new.

When you do surprise your pet with a tasty new treat, start with a small amount first to check that it’s safe. This is good practise for all treats and not just the home-made variety.

There’s a lengthy list of human foods that can be toxic for dogs including onions, garlic, chocolate and grapes.  It's also a good idea to avoid giving your dog cooked bones as these can splinter and cause internal damage.

If you follow these simple safety precautions, both you and your best friend can enjoy a happy dog biscuit appreciation day!
